EPA Registered and FDA Approved PermaSafe HVAC Surface SHIELD is a Bacteriostatic, Fungistatic and Algaestatic, Antimicrobial Surface Protectant, and bacteria, mold, mildew, fungi, algae, and odor inhibitor.
Multi-functional, multi-surface SHIELD is safe, effective, and EPA registered for use on all types of HVAC Systems, air ducts and related components in residential, commercial, institutional and industrial buildings.
Unlike typical disinfectants, sanitizers and other antimicrobial products that kill or inhibit the growth of microorganisms that are present on surfaces at the time of their application, and then quickly evaporate, SHIELD coats surfaces with an invisible microbiostatic barrier that inhibits the growth of microorganisms and helps prevent the growth and spread of bacteria for up to 3 Months. It also helps keep evaporators, air ducts and other treated surfaces clean, while preventing microbiologically induced corrosion, reducing related surface deterioration, and controlling and halting the return of microbial odors by inhibiting the growth of odor causing microorganisms.
SHIELD is ready-to-use right out of the bottle, and its one-step, Spray and Walk-Away formula makes applications simple, while its colorless, odorless, non-corrosive, water-based chemistry helps ensure that cleaning up is a breeze. It also dries fast, leaves no odors, fumes or sticky residue, and won’t harm, damage or discolor any surface that water won’t.
Like all PermaSafe Antimicrobial HVAC Products, SHIELD is rated “Category IV” for toxicity by the EPA, the very lowest toxicity rating any antimicrobial product can be awarded, and one that equates to: “Virtually Non-Toxic and Not an Irritant.” It also means no gloves, or any other personal protection equipment are necessary when applying it, no rinsing is required after it’s applied, even on food contact surfaces, and no Precautionary Statements or Hazard Warnings are required on its labels.
